Message from the Founder

The Spirit of the Northwest Bahamas

I live and work in the same wild country that once stirred the imaginations of the Group of Seven — a land of weathered rock, bending pines, and restless water. The seasons here are storytellers; they paint and erase the landscape with every shift of light.

I call it the Northwest Bahamas — partly in jest, knowing that with time and climate, this northern shore may feel a little warmer. But the name also reminds me to look at the familiar with wonder, to see possibility where others see routine.

This place — rugged, luminous, and enduring — continues to shape my work and my way of seeing. It’s a reminder, much like Frost’s road through the yellow wood, that every path we take leaves its quiet mark on who we become — and that creativity, like nature itself, is an ever-changing journey toward light.

And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,

Had worn them really about the same,
